Sunwook Kim to make his debut at the BBC Proms

On 14 August 2013 Sunwook Kim will make his BBC proms debut alongside the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and Kirill Karabits.

Sunwook will be performing Beethoven’s dramatic Piano Concerto No. 3 in a concert that also includes Tchaikovsky’s Third Symphony and Janáček’s Sinfonietta.

In an interview for the BBC Proms Digital Guide, Sunwook explains why the C Minor concerto has always been his favourite: “I am thrilled to be playing this work which contains great passion and ambition of young Beethoven.”

His feeling about making his debut is one of extreme excitement: “It was a marvellous experience going to the BBC Proms or watching them on TV every year and I have always dreamt of myself performing in such a wonderful music festival.”
